If you need a wider garage – such as a double wide or even larger than that – then we’ll recommend you select a Richmond garage. The structural design of these garages allow us to build you a wide open space, without the need for supports for the roof structure.
The Richmond allows for full 8-foot high sidewalls and a steeper 5/12 roof pitch.
In terms of roof construction, Richmonds are triangular structures placed evenly across the top of a building over which the roof is constructed. This provides a method of supporting the roof without the need for support poles connected to the ground below.
Here, the walls of the structure support the roof, while the truss system evenly distributes the weight of the roof across the entire structure. With the web truss system, we can build long buildings that provide immense amounts of interior ground floor space.
The ‘webbed’ design also creates a visually striking ceiling design, if you decide to leave it open. One negative of this design is the fact that you won’t be able to create an attic space, however for most who select the Richmond option, large amounts of ground floor space are much more desirable.
Due to the complex design of these structures, the garage is built from the ground up on-site, but can typically be built in a day or two.
We build your Richmond garage using quality materials.
We also offer customized versions of this structure which can include additional doors, overhead doors and windows depending on the size of the structure you’re looking for.
